School stresses? The right sort of tutoring can help.

We all want our children to achieve their best right?

Does our modern education system promote that or hinder it? It’s great if your children are naturally academic but what about those who may excel in other areas? Are they being provided for?

Having been a primary school teacher on and off for a number of years I have seen how children are under more and more pressure to achieve academically. Spellings and grammar which many adults may not know are being expected to be learned as young as 7. Maths concepts seem to be being made more and more complicated. As a result of this more and more children are suffering and in various ways. Some are putting up outright blocks to learning with the attitude (usually subconscious) of ‘I can’t do it so i am not going to try’. This is sadly leading to a myriad of emotional and behavioural problems. Sound familiar? I have come across many children who are amazing in their own way only to end up feeling a failure as they don’t tick the academic boxes. It saddens me immensely to think these children in any way feel they are a failure. Someone who excels at, say, music, or sport should be given the opportunities to develop their skills and interests.

The benefits of music have been proven over and over. Music can help a person in so many ways. Yet it is just one of the creative subjects being slowly pushed from the curriculum with the three big academic subjects taking over. Now, I am not saying the three biggies are not important, they definitely are, but so are opportunities in other subjects.

I went into teaching to help children and have left as I just didn’t feel I was able to do enough. Tutoring, encorporating BWRT® enables me to truly help children. I can adapt the learning to the style of the individual child and use BWRT® to knock down those blocks they have built up enabling them to not only progress in their learning but to feel good about themselves once more.

A happy child is a successful child
